About Daytech
Daytech Engineering the story so far. Daytech Engineering a small family
business situated on Lincoln Rd. in Masterton has come a long way since
its early beginnings 10 years ago when its business took place out of
an implement shed at the back of a farmhouse in Gladstone.
Since those early days Stuart Day and his business partner (and wife)
Jill have grown the business into a thriving General Engineering workshop
which employs 6 additional full-time staff. The company began working
on specialist products such as woolpresses and enjoyed success which went
some ways to establish and promote a good reputation for innovative and
quality product design. In more recent times this innovation has spread
to other fields and areas such as stock handling and feed-out equipment.
The company is always looking for a challenge and has on various occasions
taken on the design and commissioning of one-off customer specific plant,
including recently when the already popular sheep conveyor was modified
to handle commercial lettuces for cleansing and selection. Daytech has
been continually improving its services and products intensively over
the past 2 years with a view to being able to provide complete mechanical
Engineering coverage to their customers in the Wairarapa and also New
Zealand wide.
Research and Development plays a large part in the yearly budget and
follow up work with customers to gauge feedback is important to the company.
Aware of the fact that a lot of the business in the Wairarapa is centred
around the Agricultural sector the company has invested on equipment and
transport to make it possible to provide a full range of services at the
client site, be it farm or factory. Realising that such work can be very
weather dependant or indeed stock dependant Daytech will do its utmost
to work in with the customer schedules.
Although Daytech is very proud of its innovative product range and
New Zealand wide coverage with sales from Dargaville to Invercargill its
is still very much focused on the fact that the bread and butter work
that maintains the company from week to week is supplied by the general
engineering jobs provided from the drop-in customers, the man or woman
in the street. The broken pieces can range from a chair, an unwarranted
trailor to a tractor grader blade and we guarantee to have a go at repairing
them or at least give an honest opinion or recommendation. Above all the
main focus at Daytech is on providing quality service and workmanship.
